The Guernsey Photography Festival is back. Running from 8 September until 30 September, it will bring together some of the world’s leading and emerging contemporary photographers alongside the usual mix of educational and community events.
Fiction / Non-fiction
This year’s Festival aims to inspire, educate and inform and promises to be one of the most exciting and vibrant yet. This years theme is Fiction / Non-Fiction and includes exhibitions by multi-award winning artist Cristina de Middel, Magnum photographer Bruce Gilden, Peter Kennard who uses photomontage and collage to make political and expressive statements; and Carolle Benitah whose unique treatment of family photos has gained her worldwide recognition.
There are also shows by a number of other leading and emerging photographers, plus a chance to see work by local talents and finalists from the Festival’s International Photography Competitions.
There are opportunities for you to get involved too. The ever-popular Photomarathon returns in a new and improved format, and a wide-ranging educational programme for Guernsey students will run alongside the Festival. There will also be photographer talks and tours of the many indoor and outdoor exhibitions.
